Better Know a Program: U.S. Attorney’s Office

The U.S. Department of Justice has jurisdiction to bring cases under a number of federal statutes, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Housing Act, the Civil Rights Act, the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-employment Rights Act, the Servicemembers’ Civil Relief Act, the Civil Rights of Institutionalized Persons Act, and the Equal Educational Opportunities Act. In this CLE, Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Page will explain how civil rights complaints can be filed with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the types of civil rights cases the U.S. Attorney’s Office investigates and litigates.

Presenter:

Justin Page is an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Minnesota where he practices in the civil rights section.  Justin investigates civil rights complaints that are filed with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, including complaints alleging violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Housing Act, and the Civil Rights Act.  Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Justin was a supervising attorney at Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid/Minnesota Disability Law Center (MDLC) where he supervised MDLC’s voting rights work and outreach team.  In addition, Justin litigated disability discrimination cases in state and federal court. Justin started his legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Pamela Alexander in the State of Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial District.  Justin graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law.  Before attending law school, Justin was a legislative staffer to the late U.S. Senator Paul Wellstone in Washington D.C.
