State Support Launches LawHelpMN Immigration Legal Help Page

Legal Services State Support is pleased to announce the launch of a statewide campaign to increase awareness of LawHelpMN.org/immigration as the most reliable, comprehensive gateway for free immigration legal resources in Minnesota. The campaign makes immigration help resources available online and in print to increase accessibility.

“Immigration legal services should be within reach of those who need them, regardless of income. That’s why LawHelpMN exists—to help Minnesotans address legal problems by providing easy-to-understand information about their rights and connecting them to free, trustworthy legal assistance,” said J. Singleton, program manager with State Support. “We can support our communities, counter misinformation, and improve access to justice for all Minnesotans by making trusted immigration information and legal support readily available.”

LawHelpMN.org/immigration offers a centralized, trusted portal for free immigration legal information and support, including a compendium of 40 related fact sheets in English, Spanish, Hmong, and Somali. It helps Minnesotans avoid misinformation and predatory scams by directing them to verified legal resources, while serving as a consistent, reliable entry point for community members and organizations seeking accurate legal guidance and referrals to attorneys. By working directly with immigration legal services providers, it assures up-to-date information during times of rapid change.

"Across Minnesota, immigration legal services providers are seeing first-hand how fear and misinformation can make it challenging for people to find help when they need it most,” said Hanne Sandison from The Advocates for Human Rights, a member of the Minnesota Immigration Legal Collaborative, also known as The Hub. “LawHelpMN.org/immigration gives communities a trusted place to find accurate, up‑to‑date information and connects them to legitimate legal help, so families can get the support they need during an incredibly uncertain time."

State Support wishes to thank its web strategy and design partners at Electric Citizen for providing web development services for LawHelpMN.org/immigration on a pro bono basis.
