In person attendance only.

  • Heather Rastorfer-Vlieger, Minnesota Loan Repayment Assistance Program
  • Roya Moltaji, Senior Financial Planner, Charterpoint Wealth Strategies
  • Don Fulton, Financial Coach, CFPB Financial Coaching Program/VLN

This financial workshop and social will feature one hour of information from a financial planner and a loan repayment specialist, and a second hour for casual discussion. We hope you’ll bring your own strategies and tips to share.

Most people working in legal aid have chosen their work for the opportunity to do good, not necessarily because it is the highest paying job available. Planning ahead on this salary can be stressful at times, especially trying to follow generic financial advice that may not feel like it’s geared toward the non-profit sector. Come spend some time with like-minded colleagues and get financial information tailored towards non-profit professionals, as well as an opportunity to talk with others about what they do about money.

The presentation will address:

  • Retirement savings options, including 403b, Roth IRA, and alternatives
  • 529 College savings accounts
  • Balancing loan repayment with retirement savings
  • Saving for a home or other large purchase
  • Income based loan repayment programs
  • Tax benefits and consequences

Registration: There is no cost to attend this workshop, but registration is required because space is limited to 35 participants. We will close registration when the limit has been reached, and start a waiting list.  In person attendance only.

There is no CLE credit for this program.
