The Battered Women's Legal Advocacy Project (BWLAP) has announced its 2014 Journey of Hope Awardees, Christy Snow-Kaster and Vernona Boswell.
In Legal Services: For the last decade, attorney Christy Snow-Kaster "has demonstrated a commitment to providing advocacy and justice to domestic violence survivors" with Central Minnesota Legal Services. In addition, she serves her community as a member of the Fourth Judicial District Family Violence Coordinating Council, and the Hennepin County SMART Team.
In Advocacy: Vernona Boswell is an advocate who has dedicated her career of 20 years to serving Hennepin County residents affected by domestic violence and homicide at the Hennepin County Attorney Domestic Abuse Service Center. Supervising advocates from community programs, "Vernona's leadership and supervision are highly valued as they bring knowledge, balance and humor to a very difficult job."
