Joseph L. White, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus
For the past 46 years, Dr. White has enjoyed a distinguished career in the
field of psychology and mental health as a teacher, mentor, administrator,
clinical supervisor, writer, consultant, and practicing psychologist. His
four books and seminal article in Ebony magazine in 1970, “Toward
a Black Psychology,” were instrumental in beginning the modern era
of African-American and ethnic psychology.

Bipolar and Borderline Personality Disorders

This seminar is designed to provide an opportunity to
ask questions and discuss the complexities of bipolar/depressive disorders
and borderline personality disorder with a licensed psychologist. Dr.
Smith performs cognitive/intellectual, adaptive behavior and personality
assessments including developmental disabilities, Social Security appeals
and ADHD evaluations on adolescents and adults. Dr. Smith also performs
assessments for MFIP recipients. After a discussion with
Dr. Smith, we will break into small groups according to practice area,
to apply what we've learned to our day-to-day practice. All practice
areas are encouraged to attend.

2008 Equal Justice Conference

The Equal Justice Conference is coming to Minnesota. Sponsored by the American
Bar Association and the National Legal Aid and Defender Association, the conference
brings together from around the country volunteer and legal aid lawyers, program
coordinators, judges, law students, law school faculty, court personnel, law
librarians, and others working to deliver legal services to the poor. The
conference will offer a wide range of learning and sharing experiences including
plenary sessions, workshops, networking opportunities and special programming.
This is the first time the conference has been held in Minnesota.
